We all have questions. Over the past few months, so much about our daily life has changed, and this has raised lots of big questions for all of us about our lives, purpose and meaning.
We decided to put together a short series of talks taking in these bigger questions to help us think about the message of Jesus and how this connects to life. We’d love to invite you to join us for these talks live on our YouTube channel. Please note the dates:
Each of these talks are live on Sundays at 6pm. Please subscribe and share this link with anyone you think might be interested.
We’d love it if our kids could be involved in our Good Friday Zoom service, and be involved in some way.
Before church it would be great if you could make up a batch of salt dough. You’ll need…
1 cup of Plain Flour
1/2 cup of salt
1/2 cup of water
Mix the flour and the salt together and gradually add the water until it makes a smooth ball of dough.
Once your creations are finished, place on a baking tray, put in the oven on the lowest heat and cook for 3 hours. These can then be painted once cooled.
If you don’t want to make some salt dough but have some play dough, you can use that too (just don’t bake it).
During our meeting it would be great for the children to make some creations that remind them of the Easter Story. You can use the pictures below as inspiration. At the end of our meeting we would love to see what they have made.
Story Stones
The Easter story is an incredible story, one that is full of life and hope. It is also an important story for kids to know and understand. So why not make some story stones.
All you need…
5 largish stones
Paint or permanent pens
Pencil
For younger children draw on key parts of the story in pencil and let them colour the pictures in.
For older children, let them draw and colour in the pictures. Once dry, use the stones to tell the story, keep them around during the Easter period to keep this amazing story in mind.
Easter decorations
Make your own model of the Easter Story.
The model below was made out of tea leaves (used and dried – but you could use soil, or lentils or even porridge oats) for the base. The tomb and rocks were made out of egg boxes painted.
The crosses were made of cardboard and grass was wool. If you don’t have these exact resources you can get creative – Lego? Or just paint a picture!
Below are 2 links to a prayer and meditation written by Roger and Faith Forster, who co-founded and lead Ichthus Christian Fellowship. Let’s use these prayers to form a shield of protection around the congregation and our loved ones.
